Climbing shoes is one of the most important gear in climbing sports. The very most important aspect of climbing shoes is ensuring you get the proper fit. Different kinds of rock climbing shoes are made to fit differently and they differ from manufacturer to manufacturer and even model to model.

Your climbing shoes are made to fit you comfortably tight. There shouldn’t be any room in the shoe for your feet to move. Your toes should push into the front of the shoe, being slightly curled or straight. You should be able to fit one or two fingers between the laces or straps for stretching. Your heel should fill out the shoe and it shouldn’t lift up and down when you walk. If this happens, you will be alerted by the funny sound arising from your feet.

There are all sorts of climbing harnesses as they are available in a range of sizes and designs, and it’s tough to get climbers to agree on what climbing harness is the best. However, there’s one thing that all climbers agree on: for a climbing harness to be safe, comfortable and effective, it must fit the climber well. Whereas an ill-fitting harness is at best uncomfortable and at worst dangerous, and before buying a climbing harness it’s imperative to try it out first.
